Kelly - Gorse Covert, Loughborough

Hi, I'm Kelly

I live with my husband and our 9 month old son. We're an active family and love being outdoors. I'm a strong believer in staying active to support your mental health.

After having to stop running during pregnancy I was disappointed but I aimed to stay active during pregnancy and did so with weekly yoga, swimming, walking and HIIT classes. Since having my little boy I walk walk, go swimming and HIIT classes weekly. I'm now running again which I think was helped by staying active in other ways!
I'm excited to start leading my own walks soon for other local mums. There is nothing better than a walk and a chat with like minded people. (coffee and cake after also help!)

Jasmine - Bouskell Park, Blaby

Hi,

I'm Jasmine and I am the owner of Moving Mums. I am a fitness instructor (Jasmine Louise Dance & Fitness), primary school teacher & first time Mum to Mila!

I am super passionate about fitness and it has always been a huge part of my life. I have been an instructor in the local area for 3 years now and teach a variety of classes. Once I got pregnant, exercise was something which was very important to me and it was so beneficial to my pregnancy and birth. This meant I experienced the challenges of exercising whilst pregnant but managed to keep it up, modifying it accordingly. I also now experience first-hand the challenges of finding the time to work out with your baby but also how to exercise safely in the postpartum period. I made an amazing decision in my maternity leave to become qualified in pre & postnatal fitness as I believe every Mum should have the opportunity to exercise safely throughout their pregnancy and beyond.

I am here to provide classes where Mums can come together, get moving & feel good! Not only that, I hope that Moving Mums can be a community where we can come together and support each other with the highs (and lows!) of parenthood.
My classes are fun, inclusive and are here to support you wherever you are on your postpartum journey. I'm super excited to go on this journey with you all!

Leanne - Whitwick & Coalville Leisure Centre

I'm Leanne an absolute birth nerd here to support you throughout the perinatal period, physically, emotionally and educationally.
I offer support to you as you progress through pregnancy and into parenthood with deepened knowledge of pregnancy and postpartum as well as physiology so you're in safe hands!
My passion for activity has been with me throughout life, though now I get to team it with my other passion of the perinatal period.
Yoga is such a beneficial activity in pregnancy and postpartum as it moves you gently, connecting you physically and emotionally to your changing body, strengthening it and allowing you to feel the benefits in labour and as your body adapts to parenthood! Come check it out.

Natasha - Donisthorpe Woodland Park

As a new mum myself I have a whole new appreciation for going for a little walk. First of all, what an achievement it is to just get out of the house! In my opinion meeting other mums is important too. Never underestimate the positive impact you could have on your own and/or someone else's day by just chatting about anything and everything. Sometimes a walk and a chat can make all the difference. Plus, it's that little bit of exercise that can be hard to find the time for otherwise.
It's an added bonus if your little one has a nap at the same time too!

Siobhan - Market Harborough & Lutterworth

I'm Siobhán, a Registered Midwife (RM) and Health Visitor (HV) with particular interests in antenatal education, infant feeding and child nutrition. I am based in South Leicestershire, however I work for a neighbouring NHS trust. I am a mum to my little girl who was born at home with the help of the amazing Leicestershire home birth midwives. I used hypnobirthing techniques to manage my labour and I can say thanks to this experience that it really does work! I am also a fur-mum to two very enthusiastic spaniels, Sally and Mae, and wife to my amazing horticulturalist husband, Carl. Originally from Cork, Ireland, I am (like all Corkonians) irrationally proud of being from Cork… My husband just rolls his eyes at this stage! 2024 also marks ten years since I moved to the UK.

Through my small one-woman business, Calm + Connected, I offer hypnobirthing courses, aromatherapy for labour and birth, infant feeding support and a weaning masterclass to help guide you throughout the whole of the perinatal period. I am also hoping to soon add support for potty and toilet learning to support your family through that next significant stage. I look forward to meeting you and your baby soon on an Active Mums Club walk in Market Harborough or Lutterworth and hopefully share my knowledge and experience with you, empowering you through this exciting and beautiful but tiring and challenging time!

Sarah - Melton Mowbray

Sarah is based at Waterfield Leisure centre at the community manager and leads a weekly walk from there. Sarah is also a qualified pre and post natal qualified fitness instructor, and is a big advocate in the Melton community for women's fitness, so along the walk you can ask any questions you like about getting into one of her many sessions!

Rebecca - Watermead Country Park

Hi, I'm Rebecca. I'm a primary school teacher and a first-time mum, living with my husband and our baby girl. I'm loving the journey of motherhood and spend a lot of my time taking my little one out for walks, which is something we both enjoy. When I'm not teaching or with family, you'll probably find me outdoors, enjoying some fresh air and a good stroll.

As a new mum myself I know how important it is to get out of the house, get walking and meet new people. I am so excited to start leading my own walks and to meet you all!

Samantha - Braunstone

Samantha will leading a walk around Mossdale Meadows in Braunstone.

Hi I'm Samantha, a busy twin mum who enjoys getting out on walks, I love meeting new people and what better way than to become a leader for a walking group in my local area. Active mums walking group helped with my confidence when leaving the house after having the twins and I would love to do the same for others.

Sam - Bradgate Park

Sam will be taking over from Jo at Bradgate park.

A little about Sam...
Hi, I'm Sam and I'm currently enjoying maternity leave after my little boy was born in May. I've been attending the Bradgate Park walks since my baby was a month old and have loved getting out and meeting everyone each week and the friendships that have come with that so am excited to take over this walk. When not on maternity leave I work in sport so am hugely passionate about the benefits being active brings. Away from work I can often be found on dog walks in the countryside or watching live sport! Hope to see you on a walk soon.

Jess - Grange Park Loughborough

A little bit about Jess...
By day - a birth & postnatal doula / mother to two, by night - a birth & postnatal doula / somewhat more frazzled mother to two!! My children are no longer 'buggy' age (though I'm sure given half a chance they would both happily hop back in one) but I remember so vividly how much better I'd feel getting out for some fresh air, especially on some of those tougher days. I suffered considerably with poor mental health following the birth of my first child, and found it incredibly challenging and intimidating to go along to a traditional 'baby class'. I'd often tuck him up in the buggy to head out for a walk / coffee but it felt lonely...I missed the company of adults and conversation. By becoming a walk leader - I hope I can facilitate those same 'fresh air / feel good' walks for you...the company, the problem sharing, the lightening of the load, the laughter, and incredible stories about the rollercoaster that is parenting.

Some fast facts about me - I am an avid book lover, I have an epic sunglasses collection and you will see many examples on our walks, Lindt (mint chocolates) are top tier and I can't be convinced otherwise, and I absolutely love listening to country music...but only when I'm cooking (go figure).

Emma - Hinckley

Hi I'm Emma a first time mum to my little boy born at the end of August this year.
I was fortunate to keep active throughout pregnancy and now with a little one in tow find walking such an important activity for the postpartum the journey.
When I'm not on maternity leave I work in the sports sector and when not working can usually be found swimming with the local triathlon club or exploring somewhere new on a run.
I look forward to welcoming you to a walk soon !

Amy - Welland Park

A bit about Amy...
I'm a mum of 3, 2 energetic boys aged 5 and 3 and a little girl born in October. My baby loves an outside, on the move nap so we're often on walks. And with two boys who bounce off the walls if we're inside too long, we're always getting out for fresh air discovering parks and green spaces in the local area. I always ask new mums "is it what you expected", because motherhood was not at all what I expected and definitely something that has developed with each of my children. And maternity leave is definitely not a holiday! I'm excited to start this new walk and meet other new mums in the area.

Jo - Market Bosworth

A bit about Jo...
Mummy to two rascal boys.
I love exercising; almost as much as I love chocolate. It makes me feel great and it helps give me the mental capacity to navigate motherhood and life. And I want you to love exercise too! My aim is to make exercise accessible to as many women as possible, giving fun, affective and safe workouts that make you stronger, fitter and leave you feeling amazing.
